Emma has lived abroad most of her life. Some of the places she has called home include West Africa, France and Italy. She also spent an all too brief year in New Jersey, USA.

After graduating in American History from Sussex University in 2005, she hopped on a plane to Rome where she worked as a teacher, educational writer, interpreter and translator. She is passionate about US politics, medieval history, languages and anthropology.

She loves to study as she travels and tries to absorb as much of the local culture as she can. Emma works as a writer for Responsible Travel News and is a prolific blogger.
