Our friends at GSE Ecotours in Kenya are offering a press trip to any journalist who would like to write a feature on community based tourism. Here is their page on responsibletravel.com: http://www.responsibletravel.com/trip/Trip900506.htm
GSE Ecotours are an independent, well established tour operating company specialising in Village Homestays holidays in Kenya. These holidays provide an alternative form of tourism where the visitor gets to integrate into the host community’s way of life by experiencing their local culture and customs.
GSE Ecotours is part of a wider operation that has its objectives in the promotion of sustainability and conservation of natural resources in rural areas of Kenya. We have helped establish the Non-Profit Organisation Kenya Women’s Community Tourism Association (KWCTA) as well as the grassroots community-owned Mukuru Conservation Trust. We have been involved in a number of projects promoting sustainable forms of agriculture and tourism and the conservation of wildlife in Kenya. We also help local students and foreign researchers to become involved in these fields. For further details please contact Jackie Kariithi jackie@gse-ecotours.com
